Description
“Founded by the Society of Friends in 1833. Situated in Haverford Township, Delaware County and in Lower Marion Township, Montgomery County, Haverford, Penna.” – Subtitle.
This striking view of the grounds of Haverford College was drawn by local architect E. Nelson Edwards in 1947 and likely published in a contemporary guide to the historic campus. Thirty different buildings are numbered throughout the image and identified in the accompanying legend.
Additional athletic fields, landscape elements, and transportation routes are illustrated and labeled. An inset in the lower right highlights Haverford’s proximity to Philadelphia, accessible via a quick trip along the Pennsylvania Railroad.
Scarce and listed only once in Worldcat, appropriately at Haverford College Library. OCLC# 6821173
