Description
“That the economic development of China will be momentous is taken for granted, but there is little more than conjecture as to the lines which it will follow..” – Introduction.
This interesting book on China’s economic geology was authored by Wilfred Smith in 1926. The year prior, the death of Sun Yat-sen exacerbated political rivalries that would ultimately develop into the Chinese Civil War in 1927.
Descriptive text regarding the country’s iron and coal deposits are accompanied by several diagrams, maps, and tables. Two folding maps in the back pocket show the distribution of coalfields in North China and the distribution of coal fields in South China.
