A wonderful relic of a previous generation, this Christmas cartograph was sent out by the Young family in the winter of 1948 (presumably after a recent move, according to the updated address). As it unfolds, the card presents the story of Christ’s birth according to both St. Matthew and St. Luke.

The final centerfold is a large map of the Holy Land with important sites numbered in blue and red, according to the Book of Matthew and the Book of Luke, respectively. The festive example of comparative cartography was drawn by artist Gillette French.
