This uncommon unit history was created and published anonymously, though it was likely designed by elements of the 62nd Armored Infantry Battalion and printed in Burghausen, Germany in 1945. Divided into four sections (Dedication, KIA, Battalion History, and Appendices), the volume offers detailed insight into the infantry experience during the European Theater of Operations. Unit rosters, statistics (casualties, equipment, prisoners, etc.), commendations, and lists of attached units are all provided.
The 62nd was assigned to the 14th Armored Division during much of the campaign and encountered significant action in the march across France and Germany. A folding map, separated from the binding, highlights the unit’s route through the E.T.O. in red.

Condition Description: 118 pp. booklet with glued binding and original paper wraps. Minor loss on the front cover and first several pages of text. Contents are complete, but moderately toned and wavy from previous exposure to moisture. Somewhat brittle, resulting in a few edge tears. Includes the folding map, also wavy with a number of small tears along fold lines. About good condition overall.
