Description
This Interesting WWII memento shows a bird from the 466 Bomb Group dropping a 200 lb ‘egg’ on St. Nazaire, Munich, Dresden, and Berlin. Stationed in Attlebridge, England, the 466 Bomb Group flew over 230 missions across France, Germany, and Belgium between March 1944 and V-E Day. The unit proudly displayed bright red tail fins on its B-24 Liberators- the feathers of the chicken (or gamecock) likely reflect this identifying characteristic.
