Description

This illustrated map summarizes the World War II campaign of the 110th Engineer Combat Group in the European Theater of Operations (E.T.O.) The unit’s route can be traced from their training in England to debarkation on the beaches of Normandy and the following thrust through France and Germany.

Captioned vignettes highlight many of the most significant accomplishments of the unit; including the construction of bridges, clearing of minefields, capturing of prisoners, and erection of defensive emplacements. Accompanying tables list the various decorations earned by the 1104 E.C.B., as well as the associated units and supported divisions. Surrounding the entire image is a border of barbed wire, anchored in each corner by the Corps Castle, the official logo of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
