Mapping lust and sexuality in the City of Angels.

Description
Night falls on Los Angeles (note the creepy sun) with this abstract and colorful view of the city, designed by John Craig for Playboy Magazine. It was published to accompany an ongoing series of articles focusing on sexuality in America, and emphasizes the lascivious locations popularized around the city.
Or, at least a part of it. Perhaps not surprisingly, Hollywood and adjacent areas comprise a majority of the locations listed. They include a mix of legitimate and risque sites include the short-lived swinger’s club Plato’s Retreat West, the Tropicana Motel, the clothing-optional Elysium Growth Center, the Playboy Mansion, and open-sex community Sandstone III (though it closed in 1976).
