Description
This uncommon company report was issued in 1927 to shareholders of the Chicago-based meatpacking firm Swift & Company. Informational text, financial data, product advertising, and a variety of visuals (photographs, charts, etc.) are included within the decorative embossed covers.
Of particular interest is a centerfold map of the United States that highlights Swift & Company’s streamlined and efficient nationwide packing and distribution system. The Swift Refrigerator Car, featured throughout, was one of the key efficiency innovations that propelled Gustavus Swift into one of the meat magnates of Chicago’s Union Stockyards.
