Description
This marvelously detailed nautical chart covers a portion of the Atlantic coast between Block Island Sound and Buzzard’s Bay, including Narragansett Bay and Mt. Hope Bay. The image includes all of Aquidneck Island, Fall River (MA), and much of Providence.
Aimed for a sailing audience, the content focuses on the rich maritime traditions of the region. Depth soundings are noted throughout, along with navigational hazards, seafloor composition, coastal landmarks, and a variety of geographic features. Lighthouses and certain beacons are highlighted in red. Despite the emphasis on water-based information, a wealth of details regarding the coastline are also presented.

Condition Description: Large nautical chart printed on sturdy paper. Heavy wear along the right side of the page, including several areas of skinning and surface abrasion, a large damp stain (see scan), and some scattered wrinkling. Other areas lightly affected by creasing, spotting, and other signs of age and use. About good condition overall.
