Description

This vintage view of Tempe, Arizona was published in 1987 and intended for local students attending Arizona State University. The campus dominates the center of the image (note the Sun Devil trouncing Wilber, the Arizona Mascot), surrounded by a variety of budget-friendly restaurants, bars, and retailers.

The outer border is comprised of customized coupons (with perforated edges for easy removal) promoting many of the local businesses within the image. The various good deals include $1.50 margaritas, BOGO movie rentals, a free balloon with purchase, and a $24 designer perm!

The map was illustrated by Jim Wodark. Published in 1987 by Camptoons Promotions, Inc. of Denver, Colorado.
