Description

“This map, scale 1:40,000, shows the principal Downruns in the PARSEN ski-ing district from Wissflujoch, the upper station of the Parsenn Railway.” – text, lower right.

This illustrated view, oriented west at the top, highlights the skiing routes of Parsenn, a popular downhill area near Davos, Switzerland. The funicular railway, still in operation today, can be seen along the edges.

Signed Urilli in the lower left and published in late 1945, according to the railway guide printed on the verso. Thousands of Americans on occupation duty in nearby Germany would have been tempted by such promotional material, issued in English by the railway.
