Description

This plan of ‘Modern Jerusalem’ was designed by historical geographer William Hughes and published in London in 1844. Numerous features (ancient and modern) such as walls, gates, roads, and buildings are labeled individually throughout the image. Various mosques, convents, and churches reflect the multi-religious nature of The Holy City. Three different walks are highlighted in red, blue, and yellow outline color.
