Description

This charming pictorial map celebrates some of California’s earliest European settlers. Various show the twenty-one different Christian missions established by Spanish priests between 1769 (San Diego de Alcala) and 1823 (San Francisco de Solano). Additional illustrations highlight cultural elements and architectural features.

Originally copywritten in 1968 by R.M.K., Inc. This example was designed by Hubert A. Lowman and published in 1988.
