Red Trail Adventure [and] Roundup Jamboree

Colorful board game celebrating the American West.

This interesting double-sided board game was created by the Wanter Game Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1950. Not much can be found about the company or its products, making this example quite scarce on the market.

One side shows the Red Trail Adventure. Players travel a circuitous course across the western United States on a path that begins and ends in St. Joseph, Missouri (the traditional starting point of the Oregon Trail). Cartoon vignettes highlight various cultural aspects of the Wild West like Buffalo Bill, the Alamo, and Native Americans.

The verso is a different board game titled Roundup Jamboree. Though no rulebook is present, it appears to require four players, each of which competes to rustle the most cattle in the center of the board.
