This postwar celebration of America was designed by Edwin Stroh and distributed as a giveaway in J.C. Penny stores in 1949. According to the inside front cover, this is the second edition, due to the popularity of the first, which was issued in 1942.
What follows are 48 comic-book style summaries of the history, economy, and geography of each state. Numerous cartoon panels are included on each page, along with a small map identifying the capital, the nickname, and basic demographic information.
An interesting and graphic account of contemporary American identity in the years following World War II.
