This interesting publication details a part of the operations of the United States Commission of Fish and Fisheries for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 1899. It was printed by the Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C. in 1900 and contains numerous photographs, tables of statistics, and folding maps that provide additional information on the commission’s findings.
Three reports are included – Report on the Propagation and Distribution of Food-Fishes by W. de C. Ravenel, Report on Inquiry Respecting Food-Fishes and the Fishing Grounds by Hugh M. Smith, and Report of the Division of Statistics and Methods of the Fisheries by C.H. Townsend.
