Description

This fun little booklet was printed by Trans-World Airlines in 1954 for distribution among passengers as a souvenir on international flights. An index map on the first page shows the entire globe and notes the various routes in operation, connecting airlines, distances between points, and TWA terminals. Major regional destinations are highlighted, and eight subsequent maps by Rand McNally provide details on each.

Accompanying photographs and text provide fascinating contemporary descriptions of the visual cues from take-off to landing. Other contents include diagrams of the TWA airline fleet (primarily composed of Constellations, Super-Constellations, and Skyliners) and information on the high quality of TWA’s pilots and crewmembers.
