“It is no exaggeration to call this the most richly historic route in America.”

Description
The aforementioned text, found in the introduction on the verso, sets the tone for the lovely centerfold map contained therein. Rather than take the longer, boring, circuitous route from Richmond to Norfolk, the audience is encouraged to travel down the Virginia peninsula to see many of the nation’s most famous historic sites. Colonial Williamsburg, historic Jamestown, and several battlefields are just a few examples.
An inset map of the routes around Virginia Beach is also included. The Chesapeake Ferry Company will complete the final leg of the journey with a comfortable jaunt across Hampton Roads. “Not only is a trip down the Peninsula and across on the Ferries full of historic interest, but it cuts off many dull miles by land, and the ferry trip rests road-weary eyes and muscles, affording welcome relaxation.”
