This folder contains thirteen separate sheets detailing various hikes in a 100 mile radius around Chicago. Each page provides a large scale map of the route, a photograph and floral description of what can be seen or experienced. Examples include the Waukegan Dunes, Highland Park, Devil’s Cave Trail and The Mineral Springs Ramble.

The collection was issued in the late 1920’s by the Outing and Recreation Bureau. This organization was a subsidiary of the South Shore Line tasked with designing promotional material for the railroad. A map on the verso of the folder shows regional rail lines, motor coach stations and an inset map of the Chicago Loop.
