Description

This educational map of the United States was published in New Jersey by C.S. Hammond & Co. in 1964. It was issued to accompany that year’s presidential election, which saw Democratic incumbent Lyndon B. Johnson defeat the Republican challenger, Barry Goldwater.

A map of the United States in the upper left shows the electoral votes available to each state, along with its capital and date of admission to the Union. Elsewhere, a variety of text boxes, diagrams, and portraits provide a wealth of historical detail on previous elections in United States history. Blank entries in the tables in the lower right were intended for the owner to track election results as they came in.
