Description
The liberation of Belgium began in early September 1944 with a thrust by British and Canadian troops towards Brussels after victory in the Falaise pocket. The capital was delivered from Nazi rule on September 4 and its inhabitants immediately began to support the Allied war effort in full.
This folding guide was published in late 1944 or early 1945 for use by (primarily Canadian) soldiers on leave in the city. One side presents a simple and legible map with twenty-four points of interest numbered within the image. A border and the verso, both comprised of photographs and descriptive text, provide further details on each location.
