Mallet’s artistic representation of Earth.

Description
This engaging battle scene is overshadowed by a large tapestry showing the terrestrial globe, or at least a portion of it centered on the Pacific Ocean. A huge southern landmass is depicted within and the globe is flanked by numbers and mathematical equations. This calculated approach to the definition of the Earth is contrasted sharply by the activity below, which shows a battle taking place outside of a heavily fortified city, Constantinople perhaps? In the background can be seen the masts of numerous sailing ships, likely the arrival of invading armies on the shore.
