This interesting multi-image pamphlet was published in 1948 by Rand McNally on behalf of the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS). The unfolded sheet presents four different maps; Europe, Palestine, India, and Eastern Asia.
Each map uses a series of bright colors to identify the territorial changes and border updates that have occurred since the end of World War II. Several situations, such as the partition of the Holy Land and the Kashmir region on the border of Pakistan and India, have yet to be successfully resolved.
The verso features a chart with the flags of the various member states of the United Nations, as well as an up-to-date world map on Mercator’s Projection that ‘reflects the changes of a decade of global history.’
