Description

This understated map of the European Theater highlights the latter half of the WWII campaign of the 87th Armored Field Artillery Battalion. The second in a pair of maps commemorating the route of the unit, this sheet picks up in late December, 1945, shortly after the crossing of the Meuse river.

Large arrows represent combat actions, while the smaller ones indicate the direction of the march. Major cities are labeled throughout, but otherwise, the details are sparse. Summaries of the various campaigns, sometimes known as “After-Action Reports”, are listed across the top of the page, while additional statistics indicate that the unit expended over 150,000 rounds during their time in the E.T.O.

Created anonymously and published by the 663rd Engineer Company in 1945.
