Description

This vibrant map was published in a June 29, 1989, French newspaper to show the route of the 76th Tour de France (July 1 – July 23). It presents the various stages of the course, beginning in Luxembourg and ending in Paris; and notes time trial areas, mountains, and other details according to the legend in the lower left.

The bottom of the sheet has been filled by a dedicated fan who noted the stage and general leaders for each of the twenty-one stages, as well as the final rankings. These list American Greg LeMond as the wearer of the yellow jersey – his second win.
