Description

“Rich or poor, at the polls on Election Day, all men are equal. This is the great difference between free men and those who are not. For only free men enjoy the privilege of being able to select the men who govern and if dissatisfied with the results, to be able to select new leaders without fear of oppression. Without the ballot, man is but a tool in the hands of those who rule. This is why we vote!” [Text on verso].

This comprehensive guide to the noble civic duty of voting was copywritten by Don Latta of Carthage, Missouri in 1968. It includes a sheet of stickers representing Democrat, Republican, and Independent candidates that are to be affixed to the map as results are received. A table on the right side of the sheet can be used to calculate the eventual results (spoiler, Nixon won), and information on the voting system is provided on the verso.

The map was sponsored by the campaign for Joe Skubitz, a Republican Congressman from Kansas.
